LOCAL JOLIET GYM HONORS VETERANS

On this Veteran’s Day, one local gym is doing its part to honor Veterans “one step at a time”.

Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson took his life on October 29, 2018, due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries, and PTSD.

To honor his memory as well as the thousands of veterans who have taken their own lives, the “CHAD 1000X” event was created.

1,000 box step-ups in dedication to the ongoing epidemic of suicide and to take part in the solution for prevention.

On November 9th, 2023 the members of
UNDISPUTED STRENGTH Co. under the leadership of
Brandon Kelly stepped up to the challenge.

“We had close to 100,000 step-ups performed”

– says former staff sergeant and veteran Eddie West from Joliet.

Our members work hard in the gym every day. And here at UNDISPUTED, we train not just for the body but also for the brain. Mentally challenging workouts can be harder than physical ones. But if our brain game is strong we can withstand more of the stressors of life. We know that stress can lead to all sorts of maladies, depression being high on that list. To not only bring awareness to the epidemic of suicide but also be part of the solution.

Raising awareness for suicide prevention and overall mental health is a community effort.

It starts here and it’s something that needs to be talked about.  Mental health is not a weakness, and people need to know there are other options.   For more info on how to donate click below and Happy Veterans Day to all those willing to give beyond themselves.
